We'll be dolling up the frame and a few accessories
for this (almost) 5-year old winning driver!
Jacob Barry Putman was born on April 5th, 2006 to Donald Vincent Putman Jr., and Suzan Winkle Putman. He began his ascent to a professional race car driver almost immediately. He is a huge fan of anything having to do with racing and has been learning firsthand how to fix motors and change tires. He officially ran his first race at Old Dominion Speedway in October of 2010 at the ripe age of 4. He finished that race a respectable 4th and sealed all questions his parents may have had about his racing abilities and desires. When the season opened in March 2011, Jacob entered the points race at the two local tracks, Old Dominion Speedway (ODS) and King George Speedway. During the first race at ODS he finished first and lapped the other drivers several times. The track officials encouraged his parents to move him up to Kid Kart 2 so that he would be challenged and have a better learning experience. Naturally, they agreed and entered him into K2 with boys that had been racing for at least 2 seasons. Jacob was the ODS TRACK CHAMPION 2011. The racing format at King George was quite different and all Karts raced in the same class with a pill. Jacob raced with boys from 5 to 7 and was very competitive all season. He finished 2nd in points at King George. Jacob won his first race at King George at a special event race held for the Dylan Brown Memorial Trophy. It was a great event and a proud moment for him, his family, and friends. In addition to running the two classes full time, Jacob also entered the 9th Annual Kid Kart Nationals in St Louis, MO and finished 8th out of 13 Karts and had his first crack at a race course. Jacob also made some great racing friends including Donald Whorton with whom he and his family formed a special bond and a racing team known as J&D Outlaw Racing. In addition, Jacob has been nominated and accepted an invitation to join the Excel Racing team for the 2012 season. He plans to make as many trips as possible to race for the 2012 racing season.
